What Counts by Jenny Rough

9.6 Billion Fewer miles Americans drove in May 2008 than May 2007.

43 percent of Americans who are dining at home more often (vs. going out to eat) compared to a year ago.

20 percent of people who have switched where they buy groceries and household products due to the economy.

51 percent of people who claim they would buy eco friendly laundry detergent regardless of the economic pinch (green automobiles, green computer paper and green wood furniture were also high on the list).

48 percent of people who mistakenly believe buying green products is BENEFICIAL to the Earth (vs. 22% who understand that such goods are simply less harmful for the environment than non-sustainable products).

1/16 Amount less energy that e-commerce warehouses use compared to retail stores (plus, shopping online saves on gas. Unless you were planning on biking to the store, in which case, go on with your bad self).
