Long Beach based artist Victor Gastelum's California style will be on view at Overtones gallery with an opening reception this Saturday September 20 from 7.00 to 10.00 PM.
In Xacto Mundo Gastelum depicts Californian street culture via spray painted stencils referencing car culture, the working class, violence, punk rock, and Mexican heritage; he's illustrated for Fucked Up + Photo Copied and The New York Times Magazine. Gastelum was also the first album-cover artist for Southwestern indie rockers Calexico.
